: Not applicable. All clinical isolates analysed in our study were obtained as part of our routine microbiological diagnostics. No samples were collected specifically for research purposes. According to current regulations in Germany, such investigations do not require approval from an ethics committee. All other samples in the study were environmental isolates, which are not subject to ethical concerns.
