: This study involving human participants was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and was approved by the Ethics Committee of Shenzhen Children’s Hospital on 4 March 2021 (Protocol No. 2021028). Written informed consent was obtained from the parents and/or legal guardians of all the child participants. Ovine nasal septal tissues were obtained as post‑slaughter byproducts from a licensed abattoir (License No. 503001863) compliant with the Chinese Animal Welfare Act (State Council Decree No. 676), with no animals slaughtered specifically for this research. The study protocol was reviewed and approved (with full ethical review waived) by the Shenzhen Nanshan Hospital Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) on August 1, 2024 (Approval No. YS-24088). Tissue processing adhered to the ARRIVE guidelines and the Chinese national standard for laboratory animal welfare (GB/T 35892-2018).
