Ethics approval and consent to participate: The animal (oyster Magallana gigas ) testing followed all regulations concerning animal experimentation, as invertebrates they do not require ethical approval for their study.Moreover, M. gigas is not considered an endangered or protected species in any international species catalog, including the CITES list (www.cites.org), and not included in the list of species regulated by EC Directive 2010/63/EU. Therefore, no specific authorization is required to work on oyster samples.
