Ethics approval and consent to participate

: This study received approval from the Ethics Review Committee of Maseno University and the East African Community/Lake Victoria Basin Commission gave permission to survey the river near the parks. Authority to conduct the study was obtained from the District Commissioner’s offices in all the areas surveyed. District officers, area chiefs, and other stakeholders were also consulted. Consent was also obtained from landowners, if mosquitoes were collected from aquatic ecosystems on their lands. This field study did not involve any endangered or protected species.
