All strains were collected as part of the standard clinical investigation of patients with suspected brucellosis and the strains were anonymized. All <i>Brucella</i> strains used in this study were obtained from a collection kept at the Republican Center for Quarantine and Highly Dangerous Infections of the Ministry of Health, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
