: This study involved no human participants. The sterile male mosquito releases and field collections were approved by the Brazilian government and health authorities, as well as the Brazilian National Research Ethics Committee (CONEP), and were conducted in accordance with all relevant guidelines. Local authorities and residents were informed and provided verbal consent for the placement of ovitraps and BG-Sentinel traps. The pilot suppression trial received approval from the National Commission for Research Ethics (CONEP-CAAA: 87963318.6.0000.5201).
