Ethics approval and consent to participate: Fieldwork was authorised by the Marine National Park Headquarters (permit nos. 1036780269, 1051000471, 1060000672, 1070000741, 1080001321, 1090000677, 1100003219, 1110001638, 1120000059). Negaprion acutidens is not a protected species in Taiwan. All sharks were measured and tagged in the water with minimal handling; normal swimming behaviour was verified prior to release.
