: The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Medical Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (study number 2021 − 1796) in March 2022. All procedures were conducted in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
: Written informed consent for study participation and publication of anonymized clinical data and biological samples was obtained from the legal guardians of all participating children. The study used leftover bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) samples collected during routine clinical procedures, in accordance with the approved ethics protocol.
