Ethics approval: The study protocol and procedures were submitted to and approved by the institutional ethics committee (IEC) of SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. The committee granted ethical clearance on August 23/2023 under the reference number 8695/EC/23.
Consent to participate: All study participants gave their informed permission before being included in the study. The written informed consent was obtained from all participating adolescents prior to participation. For participants under 16 years of age informed consent to participate was obtained from their parents and legal guardians.
Consent for publication: Written informed consent for participation and publication of anonymized participant quotations was obtained from all participants and/or their legally authorized representatives, as applicable. For participants younger than 16 years, written parental/guardian consent and participant assent explicitly included permission for the publication of anonymized quotations in scientific publications. No personally identifiable information is included in the manuscript.
