: The prospective observational, non-intervention cohort studies described in this manuscript were approved by the local Institutional Review Boards of the participating hospitals (VU University medical center and the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital). SLN samples were collected and handled according to medical ethical guidelines described in the ‘Code of Conduct for Proper Use of Human Tissue of the Dutch Federation of Biomedical Scientific Societies’ or protocols approved by the Institutional Review Boards of the participating hospitals with written informed consent from the patients prior to lymph node sampling.
