Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval for immunohistochemistry analysis of FFPE EC patient samples within the study was obtained through Local Research Ethics Committee (reference 07/WMW02/50) for the collection of biopsies from consented EC patients (prospective analysis). Formal written consent was obtained from all patients at the time of recruitment into the study.All procedures involving animals were performed in accordance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, and the guidance issued in <i>‘Responsibility in the case of Animals in Bioscience research: expectations of the major research council and charitable funding bodies.’</i>
