: All data collection met the legal requirements for field research in Australia as defined under the Western Australian <i>Animal Welfare Act 2002</i>. Research for this project was approved by the University of Western Australia Animal Ethics Committee (RA/3/100/1277) and the Western Australian Department Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DPaW AEC 2013–21). All research was conducted with the permission and support of the DBCA and the local Wiluna Martu Aboriginal community who hold title over Matuwa IPA. Access to adjacent properties, when needed, was done so with landholder permission. No threatened or protected species were involved in this research.
