: In Lithuania wigeons were captured as part of the regular bird ringing scheme implemented by Ventes Ragas Station, following regulations of the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment. Permission to capture and tag wigeons in the Netherlands was granted through ethical permit for capture, sampling, and tagging of birds issued to SOVON Dutch Centre for Field Ornithology (protocol Sovon-18-02, project code AVD250002015200). Further permission to capture and tag Eurasian teal (<i>Anas crecca</i>), Northern pintail (<i>Anas acuta</i>), Eurasian wigeon, and Mallard (<i>Anas platyrhynchos</i>) was issued to JW by the Swedish Animal Research Ethics board (permit number ID 834).
