Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The blood samples of the patients and families were obtained from the “Depository of the patients with epilepsy and intellectual disability” of NCNP from the approved project “Research and utilization of biobank of hereditary, developmental disorder” by the Ethical Committee of NCNP (#XXXX-115, A2014-081). In this project, all participants provided consent. All animal experiments were approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of the National Institute of Neuroscience, Japan (Project #2008005). All VSD imaging of the rat brain slices were performed according to protocols approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of Tokushima-Bunri University.
