Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Parents and students participating in the outreach program provided consent prior to data collection. Additionally, students were given the opportunity to decline to participate in the survey during administration. The Tufts University IRB approved the methodology for data collected from students participating in study 1.For study 2, the survey was utilized by a large district in the Southwestern United States as part of their efforts to monitor their STEM programs. Students were given the opportunity to decline to participate in the survey during administration. Authors requested and were granted access to these anonymized data after they had been collected.
