: Ethical approval for this study was obtained from the Committee for Clinical Research (CCR) - Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (Service Evaluation 1362).
: All CT scan reports used were from deceased colorectal and lung cancer patients, performed between 2015 and 2016, and all were subject to the National Data Opt-Out (NDOO) mesh framework and fully anonymised by the Trust Performance and Information team prior to becoming available to the researchers. The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki, and approval was also received from the Trust Information Governance board following a Data Protection Impact Assessment approval.
