Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The present study was approved by the Scientific Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and was conducted in accordance with the tenets of the 1964 Helsinki declaration and its subsequent amendments. The clinical sample used to develop and establish the primary culture was obtained after the patient signed the written informed consent form. Mouse husbandry and animal experiments were conducted in accordance with the recommendations of the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals of the National Institutes of Health. For injections of cancer cells, mice were anesthetized under 3% isoflurane for induction of anesthesia and 1.5% for maintenance. At the end of the assay, mice were euthanized using carbon dioxide (CO<sub>2</sub>) overdose. The protocol was approved by the Committee on Animal Experimentation, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Protocol No CBB-224/2014).
