: The experimental animals were received from the accredited breeding facility of the Centre of Experimental Medicine, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Dobrá Voda, Slovak Republic (breeding station number SK CH 20021). The rats were kept in a room with a 12 h light/12 h dark cycle at constant humidity (45–65%) and temperature (20–22 °C) and had free access to standard laboratory rat chow (Altromin 1324P, Altromin International, Lage, Germany) and drinking water ad libitum. Veterinary care was provided by the Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology of Centre of Experimental Medicine Slovak Academy of Sciences. The experimental protocols and animals were bred in accordance with the institutional guidelines of the Ethical Committee of the Centre of Experimental Medicine Slovak Academy of Sciences. Experiments were carried out in accordance with the U.K. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, 1986 and associated guidelines, and EU Directive 2010/63/EU for animal experiments and approved by the State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic (Permit Number: 2652/2021 − 220, 19/03/2021).
