: Cadaveric donations were obtained through the “Body Donors to Science” program of the Department of Anatomy and Legal Medicine at the University of Chile, in accordance with Article 146 of Decree 725 of the Chilean Sanitary Code. Exhumations at the General Cemetery of Recoleta (Santiago, Chile) were conducted under Article 38 of Supreme Decree 357/70 of the General Regulations of Cemeteries. These legal provisions empower Chilean universities to use cadaveric remains and bone samples from cemeteries for research or educational purposes. The current research underwent scrutiny by the Bioethics and Biosafety Committee of the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Concepción, who approved its execution. Additionally, our work adheres to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki, ensuring ethical conduct throughout the experimental design and execution of this study.
