: All animal procedures were approved by the Ethics Committee for Animal Research at Jiangsu Meifengli Medical Technology Co., Ltd., under the approval number 2022092101. The study involved the use of sheep for mitral valve replacement surgery. The bovine pericardium was treated with an optimal anti-calcification method, and valves were implanted in sheep based on their mitral valve dimensions. The sheep underwent surgery in collaboration with Jiangsu Meifengli Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and were euthanized 6 months post-surgery for sample collection. All efforts were made to minimize animal suffering, and the animals were housed and cared for according to the institution’s ethical guidelines.
