Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study design and protocols were submitted to and cleared by the Sokoto State Health Research Ethics Committee in the State Ministry of Health, Block 16, Shehu Kangiwa Secretariat, PMB 2113, Sokoto State, Nigeria. Furthermore, thumbprint or written informed consent was sought from all study participants prior to conducting interviews and observations. The data for secondary analysis were held by UNICEF (partner on the project), and access was given for the purpose of the project.
