Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The outlined study is funded by Breast Cancer Now who put the study through an extensive review process, and the protocol (18/LO/0669) has been approved by the authorised London-Surrey-Research Ethics Committee. The study is registered with (NCT03468881).Patients will be introduced to the study by the clinical care team who will refer interested candidates to the researcher. The researcher will provide the patient with more information and will give them a Participant Information Sheet (PIS). All PISs for patients are written in plain English (suitable for 13–15-year-old students) according to Flesch Reading Ease. Both PISs and consent forms have been reviewed by a patient co-applicant to ensure accessibility. Patients will have the opportunity to go home to think about their decision and ask questions before written informed consent is obtained from those willing to participate.
