: This study was an observational study to assess the feasibility of proposed methods without case-control groups. The interventions assessed in the study were not of a medical nature (but rather recommendations concerning sleep and the timing of common behaviours). Therefore the New Zealand Central Health and Disability Ethics Committee (CEN/11/01) did not require clinical registration to approve the study processes. A future full version of the trial would be registered with the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trails Registry. Written consent was gathered from each pair by the lead researcher (RG). This included reading and agreeing to the information sheet regarding reporting and publication of anonymised data. Verbal assent was also recorded during the study briefing.
: Consent for publication was received via signed consent forms where participants agreed that they have read an understood the information sheet including information about anonymous use of data within publications.
: The authors declare that they have no competing interests.
