: We obtained ethics approval from Masinde University of Science and Technology Institutional Ethics Review Committee and a research permit from the Kenya National Commission of Science and Technology Institute (License number: NACOSTI/P/19/1986). We obtained written consent from each study participant prior to the interview and focus group discussions. We conducted a full data privacy impact assessment for the entire project in accordance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation and obtained internal approval at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.
