: Ethics approval has been granted by Austin Health Human Research Ethics Committee (Ref: HREC/59438/Austin-2020).All patients screened for eligibility will have a verbal explanation of the project (including risks and benefits) provided to themselves or their medical treatment decision-maker. If required, consent will be obtained from the patient’s medical decision-maker in person or over the telephone (verbal consent). All participants will be provided with a copy of the completed informed consent form. In addition to participant consent, assent will be sought from the treating ICU team (consultant or senior registrar) prior to proceeding with enrolment.
