: All study procedures have been approved by the University of Wollongong Human Research Ethics Committee (HE 2015/240). Latest approval was given in October 2022. Caregivers of children and school teachers provided written informed consent to participate prior to involvement in the study. Children provided informed assent to participate in the study. A collaboration agreement and approval to conduct the research and implement the programme was obtained from the Elders and key stakeholders from each participating community. The trial is registered with the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Register (Ref no. ACTRN 12619001224112, registered 05 September 2019—Retrospectively registered, ).
