Clearance to conduct this study was obtained from the Department of Health Studies at the University of South Africa, under registration number UNISA Rec-240816-052. Further ethical approval was granted by The AIDS Support Organisation Uganda (TASO) Ethics Committee, under registration number TASO-2021-56, and final clearance for data collection was obtained from the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST), reference number HS2152ES. Informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their involvement in the study.
