: Ethical clearance was obtained from College of Health Sciences, Debre Tabor University. Following endorsement from the University, the comprehensive Specialized Hospitals (study settings) were informed about the objectives of the study through a support letter from the Amhara public health institute research directorate. After obtaining informed consent (written) from clients, data were collected. Study participants had the right to refuse to join, ask any question, or withdraw at any time. Privacy and confidentiality were assured. Respondents who were diagnosed with retinopathy were referred to the ophthalmic clinic for further management.
