Ethical approval: This study and field work was approved (Institution not applicable) by the Elder of Chief Council in charge of Uwa, Edumanom and Ogbe-Ijaw Bushmeat Market in various locations as no formal document was officially given. Informed consent was obtained from all participants. Permission were taken from the market women before they were interviewed while taking the records of the crocodile sighted and market survey. The ethics declaration was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
