Ethics approval and consent to participate: The study was approved by the University of California, San Diego Institutional review board (UCSD IRB; Protocol #120516). The IRB approval covered retrospective review of multiple records for patients who had received off-label 12 mg faricimab as part of routine clinical care. The requirement for informed consent to participate was waived by the Institutional Review Board because of the retrospective nature of the study and the use of de-identified data. Patients had previously signed informed consent for intravitreal injections that included discussion of the off-label higher-dose regimen. This study was conducted in accordance with the tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki and complied with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. All patient information was anonymized to ensure confidentiality.
