: The administration of inhaled nitric oxide in this case was performed as an emergency clinical intervention and was not conducted as part of a prospective clinical study. Because this was a case report describing routine emergency clinical care, formal institutional review board approval was not required.Although this indication was beyond the approved indications in Japan, off-label use of inhaled nitric oxide has been institutionally approved at our hospital for specific clinical situations, including lung transplantation, where it is used to improve pulmonary hypertension, oxygenation, and reperfusion injury. Its use in the present case was consistent with this institutional framework.
