: Luzie Semmler is a PhD Student at the Department of Chemistry Education at the University of Oldenburg (Germany). Her research interest focuses on the investigation of teachers’ and student teachers’ views and conceptions about creativity in chemistry class. She studied Chemistry and German Language for teaching profession at upper secondary schools. She received the Bachelor of Arts degree in 2012 at the University of Hildesheim (Germany) and the Master of Education degree in 2014 at the University of Braunschweig (Germany).Shingo Uchinokura is Associate Professor at Kagoshima University (Japan). He finished Master’s Program in Education at University of Tsukuba (Japan). After he taught chemistry at high school for four years, he started to research students’ conceptual and analogical understandings in the Doctoral Program in School Education at University of Tsukuba (Japan) as a JSPS research fellow. In 2008, he became Assistant Professor at Shizuoka University (Japan). Since 2013, he has engaged in the study of analogy, model and creativity in science education at Kagoshima University.Verena Pietzner is a Full Professor of Chemistry Education at the University of Oldenburg (Germany). After studying Mathematics and Chemistry for teaching profession at upper secondary school including teacher training, she started her PhD thesis at the University of Braunschweig (Germany) and then became a Postdoc at the University of Braunschweig in 2002. Since 2009, she was Associate Professor at the University of Hildesheim (Germany) before she went to Oldenburg. Her research interests are computer based teaching and learning, career education, creativity, and food chemistry as part of chemistry education.
