: The JHSPH IRB reviewed and determined that the activity will involve secondary data analyses of existing, completely de-identified, publicly available datasets from the Demographic Health Surveys (DHS), the Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MISC), and published literature to undertake a comprehensive analysis of previous work on the use of immunization processes for boosting birth registration and make recommendations for countries with low birth registration coverage to employ. Thus, the proposed activity does not qualify as human subjects research as defined by DHHS regulations 45 CFR 46.102 and does not require IRB oversight.
