: We obtained ethical clearance from the ethical review committee of the BRAC Research and Evaluation Division (RED). Written assents were secured from the parents or guardians of respondents below 18 years of age, while consents were obtained from adult respondents before conducting interviews. Additionally, in cases where participants or their parents were unable to read, informed verbal consent and thumb print was obtained prior to each interview. Proper information was provided to both respondents and their parents regarding anthropometric and Hb measurements. They were assured that Hb measurement was a non-invasive procedure and that they would receive the immediate result on the spot, aiding in better comprehension of severe and persistent iron deficiency. Parents and adolescent girls were informed about the significance of iron for their well-being and were reassured that they would receive guidance on an iron-rich diet or a referral to a doctor based on their Hb levels.
