: The Northern Regional Director of Health Service and the management of the hospitals in northern Ghana approved the study to be conducted in the major hospitals. In compliance with the Helsinki Declaration, we obtained ethical approval from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Committee on Human Research and Publications Ethics. Informed consent was obtained from all study participants. The participants were informed about the objectives of the study, the procedures involved in conducting the study, risks and benefits, voluntariness and who to contact in case of any issues they may have after the study.
