Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study was carried out in accordance with guidelines for human experimental models in clinical research as stated by the Cameroon Ministry of Public Health. Ethical clearance was obtained from the Institutional Review Board of the University of Douala (CEI218 DU/268/05/2019/T). A code was attributed to each employee to guarantee the respect for anonymity individual employee. All infected malaria cases were treated with artemisinin-based combination therapy (artesunate-amodiaquine) as recommended in the national treatment guidelines from the Ministry of Public Health.
