: The study proposals of the two yaws studies were registered with and approved by the Technical Review Committee of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) (PHRR 191212-002355; PHRR 10803-001361). Ethical approval for the 2017 yaws study was granted by the St. Cabrini Medical Center–Asian Eye Institute Ethics Review Committee (SCMC–AEI ERC No. 2016-022). The ethical approval of the 2020 yaws study proposal was granted by the Single Joint Research Ethics Board (SJREB 2018–24) and the University of the Philippines Manila Research Ethics Board (UPMREB 2018-53401).

: Written informed consent to participate in the study were secured from the parents or guardians of minors and from adult participants. Written informed assent were secured from minors aged 6–18 years of age.
