: Ethical approval for the study was obtained from the Ethical Clearance Committee of Bahir Dar University Institutional Review Board (protocol number: 162/2023). In addition, permission was obtained from Kewot district health office. After the purpose and objectives of the study were informed, written consent was obtained from each study participant. Study participants who were positive for <i>Schistosoma mansoni</i> and other intestinal parasites were treated in Shewa Robit Health Center.
