: Ethical approval was obtained from AHRI/ALERT Ethics Review Committee (PO/26/20), the Ethiopian National Ethical Review Committee (712-506/m259/35), Ethical review committee of School of Public Health, College of Health Science, Addis Ababa University (SPH/154/2023), and the Research Ethics Committee of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (22604).We explained the purpose of the study to each participant, then read aloud the informed consent forms to obtain their agreement to participate before starting the interview. Respondents were allowed to refuse or discontinue participation at any time. To maintain confidentiality, the names of the study participants and other identifying information were removed. A code number was assigned to ensure anonymity. Oral informed consent was obtained from the traditional healers' clients before observation of their treatment process.
