: The study protocol was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee for Health Research of the Centre de Recherche Entomologique de Cotonou (CIERS-CREC) under approval number 06-22/CREC/CIERS-CREC/SG. Prior to the initiation of field activities, informed consent was obtained from mosquito collectors, as was authorization from household heads and local authorities at all study sites, in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Mosquito collectors were recruited from local communities, taking into account their usual exposure to mosquito bites. They received prior training on mosquito collection techniques and protective measures aimed at minimizing bites during collection activities. All participants were vaccinated against yellow fever and were monitored regularly for health status throughout the study period. In addition, antimalarial chemoprophylaxis was provided free of charge to volunteers before and after the collection campaigns. In the event of febrile symptoms, participants were immediately referred to a physician at the nearest health center for appropriate medical management.
