: All studies on the animal experimentation were conducted in accordance with the Current Animal Care Regulations and Standards approved by the Institute for Laboratory Animal Research (ILAR, CitationRef removed), and protocols approved in 2017 by the Animal Research and Ethics Committee of the College of Health Sciences, Igbinedion University, Okada. Reference number is not applicable. The animals were housed under standard conditions of temperature (23 ± 2 °C), humidity (55 ± 15%) and 12 h light (7:00 am–7:00 pm). The cages were constantly kept clean in order to prevent the animals from disease and the care and handling were done by a professional animal house attendant under the supervision of the authors. They were fed with standard commercial rat pellets and allowed free access to water ad libitum.
