Ethics approval and consent to participate: All participants received detailed verbal and written information about the study and provided written informed consent before enrolment, following Danish Ethics Committee guidelines. The cannabis compounds used in the study are comparable to Sativex, an authorized drug in Denmark, and patients were informed about expected efficacy and side effects (Borgelt et al. 2013; Martin-Santos et al. 2012; 2025; Winton-Brown et al. 2011).Study drugs were produced under strict quality control according to Danish Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. Safety oversight was provided by an independent GCP unit at the University of Southern Denmark. The study adheres to the Declaration of Helsinki and local regulations and received approval from the Danish Ethics Committee (S-20170217), the Danish Data Protection Agency (2018–41-5388), and the Danish Medicines Agency (2018–010018).
