: Ethical approval to conduct this study was obtained from the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences Institutional Review Board. The medical officer in charge provided permission to conduct the study at Temeke Regional Referral Hospital and to extract secondary data from the electronic database. All participants gave informed consent to participate in the study after thoroughly describing the study objectives and risks associated with participation. Separate rooms that ensured privacy were used for interviews, blood pressure, and anthropometric measurements. A phlebotomy at the CTC was used to take blood samples for blood glucose measurement. Blood pressure and blood glucose measurements were considered routine measurements at the clinic, so compensation was unnecessary. Data were handled and recorded in questionnaires and stored safely before entering them into a database on a password-protected computer. Trained healthcare workers who provided care at the clinic daily were responsible for clinical data collection. Trained research assistants collected data through the interview. The names and CTC numbers were removed before analysis to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all participants.
