: IACUC approval was deemed unnecessary for this descriptive study since fecal samples are deemed waste material and were collected in a non-invasive manner and voluntarily provided by pet parents after obtaining informed consent. Moreover, ethical review by the Institutional Review Board was also waived due to the study's non-involvement of human subjects. Our research was conducted in accordance with the ARRIVE guidelines (Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments), and other pertinent guidelines and regulations.
