Ethics approval and consent to participate
: In respect to far-from-satisfactory results achieved by other methods for VSR repair and also very heartwarming reports on RV-double patch technique, we decided to change our institutional policy to choose this technique for all patients with the diagnosis of VSR. This technique is currently our standard and preferred method for VSR repair; hence, ethical approval is not needed any longer for that. Written consent was not required because the afforded treatment in our opinions was (and still is) the safest type of treatment for all patients with the diagnosis of VSR.
