: The Research Ethical Committee of Faculty of Pharmacy, Beni-Suef University, has given the approval on conducting the present research (Approval serial no.: REC-H-PhBSU-21012).
: The informed consent was obtained verbally since VAP patients are under mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit for more than 48 h. VAP patients are suffering from pneumonia leading to difficulty breathing. Therefore, approval for a verbal consent was requested and approved. The study was conducted on residual samples (sputum) that were collected as routine work by the critical care physicians using traditional techniques without any modification.
