Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study approved by the Institutional Animal Ethical Committee, Department of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh, according to governmental guidelines under the reference of Pharm/PND/150/20-2019. For ethical reasons, each animal was used only once and all animals were sacrificed at the end of the study.<i>Adenia trilobata</i> was freshly collected from the Hajarikhil Hill tract area, Chittagong, Bangladesh, in February 2019, which was authenticated by an expert plant taxonomist Md. Anwarul Islam, Department of Botany, Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka-1342, Bangladesh, under accession number Anwar-0311.
