: Approval was obtained from the Clinical Audit Department of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, UK, registration no. 9203, where the study was conducted, which enabled utilisation of non-identifiable clinical data; thus, no consent for publication from individual patients was required. This work follows the principles of the World Medical Association (WMA) Declaration of Helsinki and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and framework.
: The study is retrospective and does not involve an experimental component. Patients followed the normal routes of management as per the then applied protocols. Data was collected and analysed retrospectively. Consent for any clinically indicated surgical procedure or medical intervention followed the standard informed and written documentation, which entails parental consent for sharing the patient’s data for educational and research purposes.
