: In the spirit of transparency, the authors wish to clarify that they were actively engaged in the processes described in this article. Kobus du Preez served as a member of the UFS (University of the Free State) cross-functional task team responsible for ‘Names, Symbols, and Spaces’ as well as the Council of the Free State Provincial Heritage Resources Authority (FSPHRA). Hendrik Auret was a member of the Permit Committee (PC) of the FSPHRA. Both authors are employed by the UFS. In terms of the art installation, Hendrik Auret (as a member of the PC) made the original proposal for the reflective prism, which was then refined and executed by the cross-functional task team of the UFS under the supervision of Kobus du Preez.
