: The study was performed in accordance with the study protocol, the Declaration of Helsinki (October 2013), and was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of the Instituto Nacional de Saúde (National Institute of Health) in Maputo, Mozambique (Ref. no. 064/CIBS-INS/2019) and by the University of Washington, Human Subject Division, IRB Committee J, (Ref. Study00006261). Results of the interviews and FGDs were anonymized during transcriptions to protect the study participants. All participants provided individual written informed consent. Participants’ thumbprints alongside witness signatures were taken for respondents who were unable to read or write. Participants were not paid for their participation in the study.
